Recently, the oldest Homo sapiens bones have been discovered in Morocco. This discovery of five 300 000 year old individuals has uncovered new information of our species such as we originate from all of Africa and the comparison between our brain regions as theirs were smaller. DNA could not have been determined but the fact they had smaller cerebellum was established. However they looked a lot like us. Crystals found around the fossils were gone through thermoluminescence dating resulting in being 300 000 - 350 000 years old which matched the age of the jawbone that had been found. Animal fossils found around the discovery site such as gazelle, zebras and ostrich eggs revealed their food sources. This put a huge impact on the home sapiens evolution we all been studying for years. |

Colorectal surgeon and professor of surgery. J. Calvin Coffey realized during surgeries on his patients that the textbook were inaccurate about organ Mesentery, some even said it wasn’t present. He is however not the first one to see that mesentery as a whole organ, Leonardo Da Vinci and the Chinese medicine have identified the mesentery as a whole thousands of years ago. This organ isn’t exactly new, it is just now defined as a separate organ which is attached to the small intestine. Due to it’s location, they believe the mesentery plays a role in the digestive system to suspend the intestines when the human stands or as a barrier so no tearing happens during digestion, Coffey looks forward to work on finding it’s function. Medical textbook, Gray’s Anatomy has also been updated to say the mesentery is one continuous part. |
